A Fable Friends Easter Basket

I had so much fun presenting at our weStamp regionals meeting. This Easter basket is one of the projects I created and presented! I just love the little rabbit from Fable Friends by Stampin’ Up! This basket was inspired by one I saw in the Occasions 2019 catalog. I just wanted to improve and have some better looking carrots, so this is how I did it!

Aren’t the carrots in this basket adorable! I also had fun coloring in the Peter rabbit with our Stampin Blends. The color choices I  used were Highland Heather light and dark,I also did crumb cake light and dark, and Ivory. For the ears in the belly I used light crumb cake and ivory. I  also had fun using our new rectangle framelits. Down below are some instructions on how I created the basket and the fun carrots!

 For the basket:

1. 1  8 1/2x11” piece of Cardstock in crumb cake.

2. Cut 1 strip of crumb cake Cardstock 3/4”x11”
3. Cut 2 pieces of crumb cake Cardstock 4 3/4”x 7”
4. Run the Cardstock pieces from step 3 through the big shot with the basket weave embossing folder.

5. Next place one of the embossed Cardstock pieces on the simply scored board in the landscape position and score at 3” and 6 1/2” Repeat with 2nd piece.
6. Rotate the Cardstock to the portrait  position with the unembossed side up against the left side of the simply scored board and score at 2” repeat with 2nd piece

7. Burnish folds
8. Cut the unembossed 2 inch section from the with a wedge cut score lines and bottom edge of 2 inch embossed section. Repeat with 2nd card stock piece. So they look like photo below.

9. Next add tear n tape or tombow glue to the unembossed flaps and adhere together.

10. Fold the flaps together to make bottom of box and adhere with tear n tape or tombow glue.
11. punch 1/8" holes on the ends of 3/4"x 11" strip. Next 1/2 " down the sides of the basket punch a 1/8" hole. Attach handle of basket to basket with brads.

For the basket decoration:

1. Cut 1/2 yard of desired ribbon. I used the Highland Heather from the Sale-a -bration rewards.
2. Stamp with Momento Ink, the Peter Rabbit onto a 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" piece of Whisper white cardstock. Stamp some grass in granny apple green.
3. Color the rabbit with Crumbcake Light and dark, Highland Heather Light and dark and Ivory Stampin Blends.
4. Use the Rectangle Framelits and cut the WW card stock with the framelit that is 1 3/4" x 3 1/4"
5. Use the next size up Rectangle framelit, 2 1/4" x 3 1/2", and cut a piece of Highland Heather Card stock.
6. Using the label from the Petite treat framelits, cut one of Highland heather gingham and one of Whisper White.
7. Stamp Easter Greetings on whisper white label with crumb cake ink in the center. Cut down straight just past both sides of the curved edge.
8. Attach ribbon with tear n tape or glue dots and tie a bow on the front right side of basket.
9. Adhere the white and HH rectangles together and attach to left side front of basket with dimensionals.
10.Mount white label onto HH label and attach with dimensionals to the right of stamped Peter Rabbit.

For the carrots

1. Using the Petite Treat framelits, cut 6 pieces of the scallop edge trim on white card stock and adhere to top of basket with  tombow.
2. Using the Petite Treat framelits, cut 3 pumpkin pie  pieces with the double circle top edge.

3. With a pencil color in the score marks on the cut Pumpkin Pie Piece. This will enable you to  see where to score and fold after embossing the paper.
4. Emboss PP pieces  with the corrugated embossing folder. Burnish score marks and adhere the treat container together. If filling with treats, leave top with 2 half circles not  adhered.
5. Using the Stampin Up leaf ribbon , cut 3 two inch pieces for each carrot. Attach to back of half circles with glue dots.
