Stampin' Blends 101

I am so excited that Stampin' Up! has just released its new line of Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers and are available to purchase!  I have been having so much fun with these new markers, especially, with the help of my daughter Shayla, who has been using alcohol markers in her artwork for the last several years!  At first I was kind of bored with just coloring with markers until my daughter opened my eyes to some basic art principles and ideas and applying them to my stamped images to give them a more real and life like appearance!  After that I was hooked!  Here are some pictures of flowers that I have stamped with Momento Ink and colored in with the markers to show off all the new Stampin' blend colors.

The two small flowers show case the difference between the Light and Dark Shades of the Marker color. The pansy showcases a blend of the Light and Dark Markers and the largest flower showcases the blends and the addition of other Stampin' Blend colors and how you can use them to make your artwork more vibrant and life-like. The swipes of color with letters like DOO and LCC  represent the initials of other Stampin' Blends like Dark Old Olive and Light Calypso Coral.  For example, with the Daffodil Delight  large flower, we shadowed using Light Rich Razzle berry(which gave the flower an exotic flare), Light Pumpkin Pie, Dark Crumb Cake and Dark Pink Pirouette.  I thought it would be fun to have my daughter do a series of Stampin' Blend videos teaching some art fundamentals and techniques along with how you can also use the Stampin Up Watercolor Pencils for some fun effects.
Here are the rest of the Stampin Blend color cards I made with the help of my daughter Shayla.
